Coding is Not Boring.

The short answer to the question “is coding boring?” is—quite simply—”no.” Of course personal preferences can vary, but coding is so not boring for so many people that you'll even find coders jumping to the profession from much flashier sounding backgrounds.

So learning and doing programming is an exercise for your brain that eventually improves your problem solving and logical ability. I'm interested in programming because I have a passion for tech, creativity, and finding solutions. I love the mental challenge that programming presents and the possibility of being able to conceive a new idea and bring it to fruition.

• But, is it really why I love programming? Meh. After many years, I’ve finally cracked the code — I love programming because I love abstractions. It’s the same reason I love analyzing code, reading about startups, and more recently, studying number theory.

• Get lots of sleep. Because you will likely spend a lot of time in front of a computer when you are programming, it is advised to get lots of sleep before hand. Make sure you are awake and alert. Take breaks. Looking at a computer screen for a long period of time puts strain on the eyes, and the mind. Take short breaks every hour or so.
