Designing a local metadata application profile should be made in light of a prior analysis of user needs, content characteristics, and organizational context.

• Typically a metadata driven application platform like ClaySys AppForms has the Designer that generates the XML or JSON metadata, and then there is a Rendering Engine or Application Browser that consumes the metadata and renders the User Interface and working application.

• Various forms of metadata may be conveyed through the entity headers contained within HTTP’s request and response messages. HTTP defines a set of standard headers, some of which provide information about a requested resource. Other headers indicate something about the representation carried by the message.

Metadata design is a critical process for the DCPC in creating digital collections. We design metadata based on the physical structure and characteristics of the original materials and the navigation and display functions that are required for the user interface. The metadata design process takes three steps.

Else, it is tough for the end-users to know where to start the data analysis from in such a huge DW system.

Metadata created by one tool can be standardized (i.e. data can be brought into one unique format) and can be reused across the other tools anywhere in the DW system. As we are aware that operational systems maintain current data, the DW systems maintain historical and current data.
